I. Definition

It is widely used in load-bearing or supporting structures in construction, machinery, transportation, and other fields, offering a highly efficient alternative to traditional angle steel and channel steel.

II. Material

The core material of C-shaped steel is low-carbon steel (such as Q235 and Q345). In some applications, high-strength low-alloy steel may be used depending on strength requirements.

Q235 steel: Offers high cost-effectiveness, excellent plasticity and toughness, and is suitable for general load-bearing structures with light loads (such as purlins and brackets in lightweight factory buildings).

It is suitable for applications with heavy loads and demanding structural stability (such as load-bearing frames for large buildings and load-bearing machinery brackets). In addition, to enhance corrosion resistance (e.g., in humid environments and outdoor applications), some C-shaped steel sections undergo surface treatments such as galvanizing (cold-dip galvanizing or hot-dip galvanizing) and anti-corrosion coatings to extend their service life.

Cross-sectional Dimensions:

Common heights (waist heights) range from 50mm to 300mm, thicknesses from 1.5mm to 5mm, and flange widths (the upper and lower edges of the "C" section) from 20mm to 100mm. Specific dimensions can be customized based on engineering drawings to meet varying load-bearing requirements.

 

Process Details:

Using a cold-formed process, cross-sectional dimensions are highly accurate (error controllable within ±0.5mm), resulting in a smooth, burr-free surface. The flanges and web (the vertical edges of the "C") maintain perfect perpendicularity, ensuring a tight fit during connection.

 

Connection Design:

Some C-shaped steel sections have pre-reserved bolt holes or slots for quick connection to other components (such as purlins, braces, and supports), reducing on-site processing steps and improving construction efficiency. Length Specifications:

Common lengths range from 6m to 12m. Custom lengths can be produced based on transportation and construction requirements, eliminating material waste.
