Colored steel tiles are a new type of building sheet material made from a colored and galvanized steel base, rolled and then coated with a colored coating. They combine the strength of steel with the weather resistance of the coating and are primarily used for building roofs, walls, and building envelopes.

II. Coating Requirements

The coating is the core guarantee for the weather resistance, corrosion resistance, and aesthetics of colored steel tiles and must meet the following key requirements:

Coating Structure:

The standard coating is a two-layer structure of "primer + topcoat." High-end products include a "backcoat" to protect the back and prevent scratches. The primer (mostly epoxy or phosphate primer) must have strong adhesion to the base material (adhesion ≥ 5N/cm) to act as a rust-proof primer. The topcoat must be weather-resistant, acid- and alkali-resistant, and resist chalking.

Coating Types and Performance:

1. Polyester (PE): Highly cost-effective, with excellent gloss and moderate weather resistance (withstands temperatures ranging from -40°C to 70°C). Suitable for dry, low-rainfall areas. Requires a coating thickness of 20μm or greater, with an outdoor service life of 5-10 years.

2. Silicon-modified polyester (SMP): Silicon is added to PE, improving UV and chalking resistance by 30%. Coating thicknesses of 25μm or greater are suitable for moderately corrosive environments (such as urban industrial areas) and a service life of 8-15 years.

3. Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF, fluorocarbon coating): Fluorine content of 70% or greater offers exceptional weather resistance, including resistance to high humidity and salinity in coastal environments. Stable performance from -50°C to 120°C. Requires a coating thickness of 30μm or greater, with a service life of 15-25 years, making it the preferred choice for high-end buildings.

III. Surface Tile Type

The tile type design determines the structural strength, drainage, and compatibility of the color steel tile. Common types and characteristics are as follows:

1. Corrugated Tile:

It has a continuous wavy or trapezoidal cross-section and is categorized by effective coverage width into types such as 820 (820mm), 840, and 900. The wave height ranges from 15-30mm.

Advantages: Lightweight and low-cost, suitable for small-span buildings (≤6 meters), such as temporary warehouses and agricultural greenhouses.

2. T-Tile:

It has a wave height of 30-80mm, uses concealed fasteners (no exposed screws), is highly wind-resistant (can withstand winds of force 12 or higher), and has a drainage slope of ≥5°. It is suitable for windy and rainy areas (such as coastal areas and plateaus).

3. Antique Glazed Tile:

It mimics the curved or fan-shaped design of traditional glazed tiles and small green tiles, with embossed wood and tile patterns on the surface. IV. Surface

1. Enhanced Corrosion Protection: The galvanized substrate undergoes a "passivation treatment" to form an oxide film that isolates the atmosphere. For coastal areas, a dual corrosion protection method of "aluminum-zinc-plated substrate + fluorocarbon coating" can be used, offering five times the corrosion resistance of standard galvanizing.

2. Printing/Embossed: Wood grain, stone grain, and other patterns are embossed on the surface to enhance decorative effect. Suitable for exterior walls or landscape architecture, replacing traditional stone and wood.

To prevent scratches and deformation during transportation, color-coated steel tiles are packaged in standardized packaging:

Single-sheet tiles: Neatly stacked by length, 50-100 sheets per stack, with a wooden pallet placed underneath to protect against moisture. Covered with waterproof plastic film and secured with steel strapping to prevent shaking.

Weather Resistance: The high-quality coating resists UV rays, acid and alkali corrosion, and operates stably in temperatures between -40°C and 120°C, reducing subsequent maintenance costs.

Versatile: The sandwich design provides thermal insulation and sound insulation, while fireproofing meets fire safety requirements. It can be adapted to different scenarios without the need for additional auxiliary materials.
